Collecting Emails from Religious Ed students and parents

Emails are everywhere. Parents have them, students have them. Everyone has them, even young kids. Yes, chances are, even your students at the lowest grade levels have them.

We have to emphasize how important it is for the parish and your Religious Education program to collect emails from your students and their parents.

Online Catechesis is the main purpose of your website. if you have the email addresses collected, these individuals will receive their weekly grace of whole community Catechesis every Friday. (Click here to view a sample.) They will also receive information and announcements from the parish, from your Religious Education programs, from your teachers. The more emails you can have in your parish email database, the more lives you can be touching every week with God's Good news.

We have to emphasize that these emails should be collected from each individual member of the parish - mother, father, each child - and not just from each family. If there are five members in th family, strive to get all five emails.

What information do you need to collect? Get the first name, last name, email address and residential zip code for each one. We suggest you do this at registration time or at the classroom level.

Once you have successfully collected these emails, please enter them into an excel sheet and email to cservice@parishworld.net. we will electronically pour them into your parish email database.

Please make it a priority to do this as soon as possible. You can do them at one time or in batches.

They can also subscribe online by clicking SUBSCRIBE at the top of your parish website. But it is best that you be more pro-active and secure them yourselves.
