Let's talk about the basis of generating revenues for your parish. We offer your two possibilities: SPONSORS and ADVERTISERS.
What's the difference? Allow us to distinguish one from the other.
SPONSORS
If you look around the inside walls and outside grounds of your church, chances are you will see, printed in different locations, the names of people who have donated financially for specific things in your parish. It could be a stained glass window, a grotto, a water fountain, an entire building or even just a single pew. For their gracious generosity, your parish was gracious enough to display their name for posterity.
The same can work for your website. Your website can display on the top portion of each page the name or names of people who step forward with the financial contribution to cover your website costs. And your parish keeps all the sponsorship money that it collects.
You can ask one person - or several people - to sponsor your website. You can also consider asking for more than you have actually invested for your website. The extra financial resources you collect can be used for all the other needs of the parish.
People are always looking for ways to help out. If you announce this sponsorship possibility, you just don't know who just might step up to accept it.
Just keep in mind that this sponsorship will appear in your one single parish website only. And while businesses may also be possibilities for your website sponsorship, individuals and families would be more likely candidates.
ADVERTISING
Advertising, however, offers distinct differences from the above-described website sponsorship. And we list them below:
1. Local and regional businesses are the prime candidates for advertising.
2. It offers a wider reach to promote products and services by advertisers. Ads can be displayed in 10, 25 or more parishes in our network.
3. While website sponsorship can be a one-time thing, advertising can be a recurring source of revenue.
4. While a website sponsorship has a limited number of slots available - advertisers can be a limitless number. You can theoretically be adding new advertisers each month, each week. And you will be earning revenues with each ad your parish can generate.
5. While your parish keeps the entire amount of your sponsorship funds, you will receive a maximum of 40% for all collected parish advertising contracts. Our share will cover our work for online programming, creating the artwork and managing the ads, etc.
6. We continue to hire and manage a crew of advertising sales people. Their job is to actively solicit advertising opportunities for our network of parishes. Their commission is a fixed fee of 20%. If their contracted advertiser chooses your parish as their lead parish, we will share with your parish 20% of the advertising revenue collected.
Advertising offers you an opportunity for recurring revenues, funds you can use for parish expenses. And it's all within your grasp.
